Fanglin Chen

Fanglin Chen was born in Hunan, China, in 1983. He received his B.S. degree of engineering in automatic control science and technology and B.S. degree (dual degree) of science in applied mathematics from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China, in 2006. Then he received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He has been on the faculty in the Department of Automatic Control at National University of Defense Technology, Changsha, China. His research interests include pattern recognition, machine learning, computer vision, biometrics, neuroimaging, and BCI. He received the Academic Newcomer Award (Ministry of Education of China) in 2010, the First Prize of Electronic Information Science and Technology Award (Chinese Institute of Electronics) in 2011, the Second Prize of Natural Sciences (Ministry of Education of China) in 2012, the Second Prize (2013) and First Prize (2014) of ImageCLEF, and the Nomination of National 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award (2014). He serves as a Member of the IEEE, ACM, Chinese Association of Automation, and China Society of Image and Graphics.
