Jichun Li earned his B.S. degree in computational mathematics from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China, in 1987 and his Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics in 1998 from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla, USA. He then worked 2 years at ICES of University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Tex, USA, before he moved to the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), Paradise, Nev, USA. He also served as Associate Director for the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, Calif, USA, during August 2008–July 2009. Currently he is Full Professor at UNLV.
