Fátima Ribeiro-Dias received her B.S. degree in pharmacy biochemistry from the Federal University of Goiás, UFG (1988) and became a Specialist in immunology at UFG (1989). She received the M.S. degree in applied immunology and genetics from the University of Brasília, UNB (1992) and Ph.D. degree in immunology from the University of São Paulo, USP (1999), Brazil. She had a postdoctoral fellowship (researching in dendritic cells and toll-like receptors in an arthritis model) at St. Radboud University of Nijmegen, in The Netherlands (2005-2006). She is an Associate Professor at UFG (Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil), working in immunology and parasitology at Institute of Tropical Pathology and Public Health (IPTSP). She has experience in immunology with emphasis on natural immunity and cellular immunology, working mainly on the following subjects: monocytes and macrophages, cytokines, toll-like receptors, Mycoplasma, and Leishmania.
