Agnieszka Swiatecka-Urban serves as an Assistant Professor of pediatrics, nephrology, and cell biology and physiology at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa, USA. She serves with the faculty of the Cell Biology and Molecular Physiology Graduate Program at the School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. Her major research interest is to understand the role of membrane trafficking in the dynamic regulation of the cell surface stability of proteins and receptors in epithelial cells in the kidney and lung. She is an independent investigator and her research projects are funded by the National Institutes of Health and the NephCure Foundation. Before assuming independent faculty position, she has studied endocytic trafficking in the kidney and lung epithelial cells at the Laboratory of Dr. Bruce Stanton at Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH, USA. Through her research and clinical work, she is committed to improve lives of children with kidney and lung diseases.
