Georges J. Casimir

Georges J. Casimir was born in Etterbeek, Belgium, in 1955. He received the medical degree, the pediatrician degree (summa cum laude), and the Ph.D. degree from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium, in 1980, 1985, and 1990, respectively. Since 1985, Casimir has been responsible of the Department of Pulmonology, Allergology, and Cystic Fibrosis of the University Children Hospital Queen Fabiola in Brussels. In 2004, he became the Chairman of the Master in Pediatrics (ULB) and a Secretary of the Belgian Kids Fund for Pediatric Research. He is Professor of clinical pediatrics since 1994. He became a Member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium since 2009. He is mainly interested in pediatric pulmonology, allergy, and cystic fibrosis. He is also working in the fields of inflammation in children. He is also a Member of the American College of Allergists and of the European Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He was promoter of 4 theses. He received a grant of the American Fund of Belgium. He receive the quinquennial Prize (2006-2011) of the Belgian government on proposition of the Royal Academy of Medicine in 2012. He is an author of more than 100 papers.
