Bhushan Kumar, is a former Professor & Head, Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, India. He has extensive experience of teaching and research and has mentored many dermatology postgraduates over the last 35 years of his active service. His areas of special interest include leprosy, psoriasis and cutaneous tuberculosis. He has many landmark publications in tropical dermatology and has been a leading contributor in leprosy research work from India having published 4th largest number of papers in the world. He had the honour of being President of all Indian Associations related to Dermatology, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Leprosy. He has published more than 490 papers – mostly in peer reviewed indexed journals and has contributed more than 30 chapters to various books. He is the Co-Editor of Text book of Leprosy (IAL) and Textbook of Sexually Transmitted Infections. He has been the guest editor of a special issue of Leprosy Review. He is a fellow of Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh & London) and a Fellow of IADVL, Indian Academy of Dermatology. Dr Kumar is a recipient of Indian Council of Medical Research Award and Life Time Achievement Award (2011) from Indian Association of Leprologists.
