Kalliopi N. Trohidou

Kalliopi N. Trohidou has received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Athens in 1988 with funding from the Greek Atomic Energy Agency and the British Council. She worked in Great Britain as a Research Fellow at the Rutherford Appletton Laboratory (1988-1989) and the University of Reading (1989-1990). During the period 1991–1993, she was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Materials Science in NCSR Demokritos in Athens and then a Professor in the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Materials’ Technology at the Technical University of Pireaus (1993–1995). Since June 1995, she has been a Researcher in the Institute of Materials Science at NCSR Demokritos. She is currently the Head of the Computational Materials Science Group and the Research Laboratory. Her current research interests are at the area of the theoretical studies and computational modeling of nanostructured materials. Her studies include systems of magnetic nanoparticles, thin films, and magnetic semiconductors. She is an author of 78 articles in scientific journals and several chapters in books. She has several International collaborations in particular with partners from the EU countries through common research projects funded by the EU.
