Hongxiang Hui serves as a Principal Scientist of endocrinology at UCLA-VA Medical Center, Los Angeles, Calif, USA, and as a Professor of metabolic diseases at Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China. He received the M.D. degree in medicine, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in molecular biology from the Fourth Military Medical University of China. Hui has been active in the area of gene/cell therapy, and metabolic diseases for years. His international experience includes programs and consultancies in healthcare management and biotechnology in China and USA. Hui's current research involves study of the gut microbial, cell therapy, metabolic diseases, support for the U.S. Research Program and China Natural Scientific Foundation, and the development of new strategies for metabolic diseases treatment and diagnosis.
