Janos Kristof received the M.S. degree in chemical engineering from the Veszpr é m University of Chemical Engineering, Veszpr é m, Hungary, in 1974, and the D.S. degree in analytical chemistry from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, in 1995, as well as the Habilitation degree in analytical chemistry, from the same university. He was a Full Professor in analytical chemistry, University of Pannonia, Veszpr é m, Hungary, in 1998, served as Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry, in 2005, and also held the position of Head of the Doctoral School of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, in 2007. Kristof is a Member of the Working Committees for Thermal Analysis (1990), Spectrochemistry (1998), and Analytical and Environmental Chemistry (2007) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is a coeditor of the Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (2006) and Hungarian Representative of the International Confederation for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (ICTAC) (2006). He is a Reviewer of a number of scientific journals, for example, the Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, Vibrational Spectroscopy, Spectrochimica Acta, Clays and Clay Minerals, the Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, and Materials Chemistry and Physics. Kristof’s research areas and activities include thermal analysis, vibrational spectroscopy, surface analysis, and clay mineral research. He has 165 research papers in referenced journals, 215 cumulative impact factors, 5 books, 2 patents, 131 presentations at international conferences, and over 1000 independent citations. Moreover, Kristof has been an invited speaker at 6 international conferences for the last 5 years.
