Chuan Ming Liu serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer sciences from Purdue University in 2002 and the B.S. and the M.S. degrees both in applied mathematics from National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan, in 1992 and 1994, respectively. In the summer of 2010, he has held visiting appointments at Auburn University. His research interests include data management and data dissemination in various emerging computing environments, query processing in moving objects, location-based services, ad hoc and sensor networks, parallel and distributed computation, and analysis and design of algorithms. He leads the Applied Computing Laboratory (ACL), where some projects about implementing the location-based services with mobile devices in wireless environments have been conducted. Recently, the lab is also investigating some important issues on data with uncertainty. He is a member of the editorial boards of many notable. He also serves as a member of program committee for many conferences, including DEXA, IEEE CSE, IEEE WiNA, P2P-NVE, IASTED Sensor Networks, VTC, WCNC, and PALMS.
