Charlie Lutz was awarded a Ph.D. degree in immunology and an MD degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Chicago, Ill, USA. He was trained at Laboratory Medicine at Barnes Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis, specializing in clinical immunology. He was a Faculty Member at the University of Iowa and is now at the University of Kentucky, Ky, USA. His research areas of interest are human NK cell biology, killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) gene expression control, aging and Immunosenescence, and HLA antibody and clinical transplantation.
