Lionel Petit

Lionel Petit is Professor at the Laboratoire de Génie Electrique et Ferroélectricité (LGEF, INSA, Lyon, France). He received the M.S. degree in 1992 from the University of Claude Bernard, Lyon, France, and the Ph.D. degree in acoustics in 1996 from the INSA, Lyon, France, for his work on piezoelectric motors. In 1996, he was hired by the SOMFY SA Group (74000 France) where he had developed a patented centimetric piezoelectric motor and he finally joined the LGEF in 1998. His current research interests include development and characterization of electroactive smart material, ultrasonic and piezoelectric devices, energy harvesting, and smart self-powered systems. He holds 9 patents and 50 publications on its research interests.
