Thomas Hanne received M.S. degree in economics from the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, M.S. degree in computer science from the Dortmund University of Technology, Dortmund, Germany, and a Ph.D. degree in economics from the Fern University, Hagen, Germany. From 1999 to 2007, he worked at the Department of Optimization, the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM), Kaiserslautern, Germany, as a Senior Scientist. Since then he is Professor of information systems at the University of Applied Sciences, Northwestern Switzerland. Hanne is the Author of about 50 journal and conference articles. His current research interests include multicriteria decision analysis, evolutionary algorithms, metaheuristics, scheduling, mathematical modelling, simulation, logistics, and supply chain management.
