Janine Lamb, DPhil, is currently Lecturer in Complex Human Genetics/Genomics at the Centre for Integrated Genomic Medical Research (CIGMR), University of Manchester. She undertook her BSc (Hons) degree at the University of Manchester and was subsequently awarded her PhD on the Genetics of Autism Spectrum Disorders from the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the identification of genetic variants which increase the risk of complex human disorders, primarily autism, but also including myasthenia gravis and the autoimmune idiopathic inflammatory myopathies. Her research includes involvement in several large international consortia, and includes approaches such as genomewide association studies and next generation sequencing. Dr Lamb is also Director of a Masters of Research Programme in Translational Medicine at the University of Manchester.
