Jan-Chan Huang received his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, Wis, USA, in 1980. Since 1992, he has been a Full Professor at the Plastics Engineering Department of the University of Massachusetts Lowell. His research interests include diffusion and adsorption on activated carbon and porous polymers, mechanical properties and rheology of polymers and polymer blends, carbon black filled conducting polymers and polymer blends, and thermodynamics of polymers and polymer blends using inverse gas chromatography. He holds a professional engineer license of Massachusetts, and is a Member of the American Chemical Society and Society of Plastics Engineers. He has been the graduate Coordinator of Doctor of Engineering and Ph.D. Programs at Plastics Engineering Department of the University of Massachusetts Lowell since 2003.
