Pasquina Marzola obtained a degree in physics at the University of Perugia, in April 1986, and a Ph.D. degree in chemistry at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in July 1992. During the period from July 1991 till May 1996 she was employed as Senior Researcher at the Research and Development Department of Bracco S.p.A. (Milano, Italy); Marzola was involved in preclinical research projects for testing new contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging. Since June 1996 she has been conducting research activity at the MRI Laboratory, University of Verona, focusing on biomedical and biophysical applications of magnetic resonance imaging. Dr. Marzola is an author of more than 80 publications in international journals, most of them dealing with in vivo characterization of animal models of pathologies and drug efficacy in laboratory animals by magnetic resonance imaging. Her present position is an Associate Professor of physics.
