Jeffrey A. Brent
Jeffrey A. Brent, holder of M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, is a Subspecialty Board Certified Medical Toxicologist and is a Clinical Professor of medicine and pediatrics at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, and a Clinical Professor of environmental and occupational health at the Colorado School of Public Health. His curriculum vitae lists 247 publications of various kinds. He is the Senior Editor of Critical Care Toxicology: The Diagnosis and Management of the Acutely Poisoned Patient, published by Elsevier, and is a Senior Editor of the journal Clinical Toxicology, the largest circulation peer-reviewed journal in this field worldwide. He is the Former President of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT), the largest professional society devoted to this discipline in the world. He has received multiple honors and awards including the Louis Roche Award, which is the highest honor conferred on a medical toxicologist in Europe, and is this year’s recipient of the AACT Career Achievement Award and Lectureship, which is the most prestigious award given to a medical toxicologist in the US. Currently, Dr. Brent is the Director of the Toxicology Investigators Consortium, a 50-center research group in medical toxicology.
