Tirso Perez-Medina was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1960. He received a degree as a physician from the Autónoma University of Madrid and the Ph.D. degree (summa cum laude) from the Complutense University OF Madrid in 1985 and 1993, respectively. From 1989 to 1991, he gained the Ob.Gyn. Specialist degree in the Red Cross Hospital in Madrid. Then, he moved to the Getafe University Hospital, then to The Santa Cristina University Hospital. Since 2008, he serves as the Head of Section of Gynecology in the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital. Meanwhile, he has been coworking at the Autónoma University of Madrid as an Associate Professor. His daily job has been devoted to the development of endoscopic surgery, mainly oriented to the gynecologic oncology. Presently, he serves as the President of the Spanish Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy. He has offered more than 100 national and international conferences and lectures and more than 100 publications in national and international journals.
