Dimitris P. Makris
Dimitris P. Makris - Food Chemist, PhD He received his BSc from the School of Food Technology & Nutrition, T.E.I. of Athens (1995) and his PhD from the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Imperial College, University of London (2001). He has over than 65 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and over than 1000 citations. His research is mainly focused on the (bio)chemistry, analysis and antioxidant properties of natural and bio-based polyphenols, the exploitation of agri-food by-products and wastes for the recovery of natural bioactive compounds, and the quality of plant-derived foods and beverages. He is currently employed in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of the Aegean, as lecturer of Food Biochemistry.
