Lucio Previtera has taken the degree in chemistry in 1971 and since then has performed his scientific activity in the Institute of Organic and Biological Chemistry of the University of Naples, and now the Department of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. Previtera has been an Associated Professor since 1980; actually, he is a Full Professor of organic chemistry at the Science Faculty of the University Federico II of Naples. He is a Teacher for Ph.D. students in chemical sciences. He is the Director of the Specialization Course in Chemistry of Natural Products at the University Federico II and the Coordinator of the Ph.D. Course in Chemical Sciences. He is a Member of the Società Chimica Italiana (Past President of Campania Section), American Chemical Society, International Allelopathy Society, and European Association of Chemistry and the Environment. He has been in the Board of Directors of the Consortium Chemistry for the Environment and is a Member of the Scientific Board of the Consortium. He was also in charge of the management of the Consortium Laboratory of Naples. Actually, he is the Director of the Interuniversity Centrum REACH. He is author of about one-hundred and sixty scientific papers in international journals and coauthor of some books in the fields of chemistry of natural products and organic environmental chemistry. He has been invited to have lectures in several national and international scientific meetings and is a referee of many chemical journals such as the Journal of Natural Products, Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry, Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry Letters, and European Journal of Organic Chemistry.
