Pavel Janos received his M.S. degree in analytical and physical chemistry from the University of Chemical Technology in Pardubice, Czech Republic, in 1981, and the Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1992. He worked as the Head of the Analytical Chemistry Department, Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Czech Republic. Since 1996, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. Since 2002, he was appointed as a Senior Scientist at the Faculty of the Environment, the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyne. His research interests involve environmental analytical chemistry, chemical equilibria in analytical chemistry and the environment, chromatographic and electromigration separation methods, and quality management systems in analytical laboratories. He (co)authored more than 70 scientific papers and several monographs.
