Sangeeta Bhorade received her M.D. degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and went on to do her Postgraduate Training in internal medicine, pulmonary, and critical care medicine also at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She subsequently developed a clinical and research expertise in advanced lung diseases and lung transplantation. She is currently an Associate Professor of medicine and the Medical Director of the Lung Transplant Program at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She is interested in identifying optimal immunosuppressive therapies to decrease both acute and chronic rejection as well as minimizing infection risks after lung transplantation. She is also interested in better defining clinical and biological predictors of chronic rejection that may provide more insight into the pathogenesis of chronic rejection.
