Ajith Abraham

Ajith Abraham is a Professor whose research and development experience includes over 17 years in the industry and academia spanning different continents in Australia, America, Asia, and Europe. He works in a multidisciplinary environment involving computational intelligence, network security, sensor networks, e-commerce, Web intelligence, Web services, computational grids, and data mining, applied to various real-world problems. He has authored/coauthored over 350 refereed journal/conference papers and book chapters, and some of the works have also won best paper awards at international conferences. He has given more than 20 plenary lectures and conference tutorials in these areas. Currently, he is working at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway. He holds an Adjunct Professor appointment at Jinan University and Dalian Maritime University, China. He has held academic appointments at Monash University, Australia; Oklahoma State University, USA; Chung-Ang University, Seoul; Yonsei University, Seoul; and Rovira i Virgili University, Spain. Before turning into a full time academic, he was involved in the industry concerned with different industrial research and development projects for nearly 8 years. He received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Monash University, Australia. He serves on the Editorial Boards of over 30 international journals, and has also been a Guest Editor of 26 special issues on various topics. He is actively involved in the hybrid intelligent systems, intelligent systems design and applications, and information assurance and security series of international conferences. He is a Senior Member of IEEE (USA), IEEE Computer Society (USA), IET (UK), as well as others. In early 2008, he was appointed as the General Chair/Cochair of UKSIM'08, UK; AMS'08, Malaysia; ISDA'08, Taiwan; IAS'08, Italy; EMS'07, Liverpool, UK; HIS'08, Spain; CSTST'08, France; the Program Chair/Cochair of ICDIM'08, UK; CISIM'08, Czech Republic; ECDM'08, The Netherlands; and the Tutorial Chair of WI-IAT'08, Australia.
