Youmin Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in 1995 from the Department of Automatic Control, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xian, P. R. China. He held several teaching and research positions in Northwestern Polytechnical University, University of New Orleans, Louisiana State University, State University of New York at Binghamton, The University of Western Ontario, and Aalborg University Esbjerg, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Concordia University, Canada. His main research interests are in the areas of fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant (flight) control systems, cooperative control of unmanned aerial vehicles, dynamic systems modelling, identification and control, and signal processing. He published over 150 journal and conference papers. He is a senior member of AIAA, senior member of IEEE and a member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Fault Detection, Supervision and Safety for Technical Processes.
