Vladimir Frecer is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Comenius University in Bratislava. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the Slovak Technical University, before joining the Cancer Research Institute of Slovak Academy of Sciences. After graduation, Dr. Frecer completed numerous postdoctoral stays at universities and research centers in Europe, USA, and Asia. From 2000 till 2009, he acted as a Scientific Advisor of the International Centre for Science and High Technology, UNIDO, Trieste, Italy. In 2010, Dr. Frecer joined the Faculty of Pharmacy. He specializes in computational chemistry, molecular modeling and simulation as well as computer-aided drug design. His major research interests involve computer-assisted combinatorial chemistry, ligand-receptor interaction studies, structure-based drug design, quantitative structure-activity relationships, ADME-related properties prediction and other areas of molecular design. Ongoing research projects of Dr. Frecer focus on rational design of anticancer, antiviral and antibacterial compounds and peptidomimetics. He is the author of more than 60 publications.
