Peter E. H. Schwarz
Peter Schwarz was born in 1971 in Eisenberg (Germany). He studied medicine at the Medizinische Fakultät Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden, where he completed his dissertation in 2001. From 1999 to 2000, he worked as a Postdoctor at the University of Chicago in the Howard Hughes Institute. From 2000 to 2007, he worked as a Resident for the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolic diseases at the Technische Universit?t Dresden. During that time, he established the Genetics and Diabetes Prevention Group. In December 2007, he obtained his qualification as a Specialist in internal medicine. Since 2008, he served as the Head of the Division of Prevention and Care of Diabetes at the Department of Internal Medicine III, Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden. In 2008, he obtained his Postdoctoral Lecture qualification, and in 2008, he was appointed as a Professor of prevention and care of diabetes at the Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus, Technische Universität Dresden. His research interests are care and prevention of diabetes, research in genetical and pathophysiological causes for diabetes mellitus. The aims of his work are development and monitoring of the implementation of methods for primary prevention of type 2 diabetes and its implementation in inpatient and outpatient care.
