Kazuhiro Tamura was born in Ibaraki, Japan in 1962. He has received the license of pharmacy in Japan, 1985, obtained the M.S. degree in the field of pharmacology in Tokyo College of Pharmacy (called formerly the present University) in 1987, and worked at the Department of Reproductive Toxicology, the Research Institute of Tsumura Pharmaceutical Company for one year (1987). Since 1989, he became a graduate student in the Ph.D. program at the Department of Endocrinology of Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He received the Ph.D. degree in 1993. From 1993 to 1995, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Kansas Medical Center, School of Medicine, Wichita, and he went back to Japan in 1996 (the University of Pharmacy of Life Sciences). Presently, he serves as an Associate Professor in Department of Endocrine Pharmacology of this University. He is mainly interested in molecular mechanisms of ovarian and uterine disorders, especially ovarian cancer and endometriosis, and potential therapeutic targets for curing those diseases. He serves as a Member of Councilors of Japanese Pharmacological Society, Japanese Society of Reproductive Endocrinology, and Japanese Placenta Association.
