You Cheng Hseu
You Cheng Hseu was born in Taipei, capital of Taiwan, in 1962. He received his B.S. degree in the discipline of nutrition and health care from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan, in 1986. Then the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees were received from the Department of Life Science, National Tsing-Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1999. From 2001 to 2005, he was an Assistant Professor at Fooyin University and Central Taiwan University. In 2006, he was promoted to an Associate Professor in China Medical University. Currently, he is working as a Professor in Department of Cosmeceutics, College of Pharmacy at China Medical University, Taichung, Taiwan. In addition to his academic, he was designated as a Director of Department of Cosmeceutics, China Medical University during 2007-2010. He has research experience from the past two decades. His research is mainly focusing on discovery of cancer chemopreventive agents by using traditional Chinese medicines. In addition, he is also working in free radical biology and humic acid toxicology. He received number of academic honors and awards for his ideal contributions in scientific research. In 1995, he was recipient of the Dr. Hsu Chien-Tien Award of Excellent for the Ph.D. thesis research. Since 2006, he has been a continuous recipient of China Medical University’s Outstanding Research Award. At present, Dr. Hseu has authored more than 40 original articles published in leading international journals.
