Charly Gaul

Charly Gaul studied medicine in Munich and Heidelberg. He was a Clinical and Research Fellow at the Department of Neurology of the University Erlangen (Germany) and Halle-Wittenberg (Germany). During this time, he passed through specialisation for neurology, (neuro)intensive care, and pain therapy. His scientific work focuses on headache (cluster headache, migraine, rare headaches), stroke and vascular disease (especially aortic dissection), pain, clinical studies, and complementary and alternative medicine. As a Research Fellow, he worked at the pain clinic of the Department of Neurology (P. Sandor) and at the outpatient service for facial pain (Dr. D. Ettlin) at the University Zurich (Switzerland). He has additional interest in medical ethics. Since 2009, he has worked as a headache expert at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the headache center (Chair: Professor H.C. Diener).
