Stefania Bonafoni received her Laurea degree (cum laude) and her Ph.D. degree from the University of Perugia, Perugia, Italy, in 1997 and 2000, respectively, both in electronic engineering. She is currently a Research Fellow and an Assistant Professor at the University of Perugia and presently teaches courses on electromagnetic propagation and remote sensing at the Department of Engineering of University of Perugia. Her research activities since 1997 are mainly focused on remote sensing: retrieval of atmospheric parameters from ground-based and spaced-based sensors, analysis of microwave propagation in the atmosphere (models and applications), remote sensing by microwave and infrared radiometry and by GPS, and analysis of the urban heat island by satellite remote sensing. Bonafoni is author of many research papers in international and national journals, as well as international and national conferences.
