Kevin Ward

Kevin R. Ward is a Professor of emergency medicine at the University of Michigan. Dr. Ward received his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and his clinical emergency medicine training at the University of Pittsburgh. His research focus is on platform technology development and use for the diagnosis and treatment of critical illness and injury including combat casualty care. Examples of these technology platforms are physiologic signal and image analysis and the use of artificial intelligence for decision assist support. His research has been continuously funded over the last decade by funding agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense and National Institutes of Health. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific journal publications and book chapters in the field of critical illness and injury. He received the U.S. Army’s Advanced Technologies Application for Combat Casualty Care Award and the Virginia Commonwealth University Innovator of the Year Award.
