Luis Alberiko Gil-Alana completed his Ph.D. degree in econometrics at London School of Economics (LSE), UK, in 1997. In 1998, he moved to the European University Institute (EUI), Florencia, Italy, with a Jean Monet Research Fellowship. In the next year, he worked as a Research Officer at London Business School (LBS), London, UK. From 2000 to 2002, he was a Visiting Professor at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (HU) Berlin, Germany, and in 2002 he joined the University of Navara in Pamplona, Spain. He is an Associate Professor and Director of the Department of Quantitative Methods, Faculty of Economics, University of Navarra. He published numerous articles in several areas such as econometrics and statistics (Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, and Journal of Time Series Analysis), macroeconomics (Macroeconomic Dynamics and Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics), and finance (Journal of Banking and Finance and Review of Financial Economics), and also in climatological and meteorological journals like the Journal of Climate, International Journal of Climatology, and Meteorological Applications.
