Hussein El-Subbagh

Hussein El-Subbagh is a Professor of pharmaceutical chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Future University, Cairo, Egypt. He received his B.S. (excellent, high honor) and M.S. degrees from Mansoura University, Mansoura, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. degree from both University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI, USA, and Mansoura University. Dr. El Subbagh was awarded a three-year postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Rhode Island to conduct research in the area of epoxide, phosphonate, and nucleoside chemistry as anti-HIV agents. In 1996, he was awarded Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship at the University of Bonn, Bonn, Germany. He received several national and international recognitions including the State Prize for Encouragement of Science, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt, in 1997. His scientific interests concentrate on the design, synthesis, structure elucidation, and development of antiparasitics, anticonvulsants, hypnotics, antimicrobials, and antivirals and mainly in the field of antitumor agents. His scientific production is reported in more than 90 publications in leading international journals and four patents.
