Chiyembekezo Suzgo Kaunda serves as an Energy Lecturer at the University of Malawi, Malawi but currently is on study leave. Kaunda is pursuing sandwiched Ph.D. studies with the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Norway University of Science and Technology, Norway, in microhydro power systems. Apart from lecturing, Kaunda is involved in consultancy and research work especially in the field of energy technology and climate change. Kaunda has conducted the following major consultancies: as a National Consultant in the terminal evaluation of the Barrier Removal to Renewable Energy in Malawi, as a National Expert in climate change mitigation (Energy Sector) for the Malawi Second National Communication to UNFCCC, and CLACC Monitoring Fellow for Malawi. Kaunda has also reviewed several national documents on energy, environment, and climate change in Malawi. Kaunda obtained an M.S. degree in thermofluids and energy systems, from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, in 2006. Kaunda has attended several national and international short-term trainings in energy and climate change. Kaunda is a Malawian.
