David Q. Liu

David Q. Liu serves as a Senior Research Investigator at API Chemistry and Analysis at GlaxoSmithKline since 2003. He currently leads the Trace Analysis team in analytical sciences, and he is responsible for analysis of genotoxic impurities, degradation chemistry, and trace analysis of heavy metals by ICP-OES. Prior to joining GlaxoSmithKline, he has worked at Wyeth and Merck in the field of pharmaceutical analysis and drug metabolism using various mass spectrometric techniques. He earned his Ph.D. degree in biological sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994, specializing in natural product chemistry.
