Tomasz J. Kozubowski

University of Nevada, USA

Since receiving his Ph.D. degree in 1992 from University of California at Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA, USA, Tomasz J. Kozubowski has held faculty positions at the University of Tennessee, University of California, and, most recently, University of Nevada, Reno, NV, USA, where he is Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Kozubowski is an expert in the areas of random summation and Laplace models— he coauthored a monograph on the Laplace distribution and its generalizations (2001) and another on ill-posed problems in probability and stability of random sums (2006). His research interests span both theory and applications of heavy tailed distributions including stable, geometric stable, and Laplace models, distribution theory, stochastic modeling of financial/actuarial processes and hydro/climatic phenomena, and fractal scaling processes. He is currently on editorial boards of Communications in Statistics and Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods.
