Ursula Kiechl-Kohlendorfer was born in Wels, Austria, in 1966. She received the M.D. degree from the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck, Austria in 1990 and the M.S. degree in health sciences in 2004. Since 1999, she has been a Consultant in pediatrics and since 2001, an Assistant Professor at the Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics, Innsbruck Medical University. Presently, she is the Head of the Department of Pediatrics IV (Neonatology, Neuropediatrics, and Metabolic Diseases) in Innsbruck. She is mainly interested in neonatology, with a focus in preterm followup, neonatal neuroscience and in the epidemiology of sudden infant death syndrome. Kiechl-Kohlendorfer is a Member of the ISPID (International Society of Prevention of Infant Death), the Austrian Society of Pediatrics, and the Austrian Society of Pre- and Perinatal Medicine.
