Pingwu Du

Pingwu Du was born in Zaoyang, Hubei, China. He received the B.S. degree in chemistry from Wuhan University in 2001 and the Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of Rochester in 2009. Thereafter, he joined Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research interests include solar energy conversion (solar-driven water-splitting solar cells), photoinduced electron transfer and energy transfer, supramolecular chemistry, fluorescent sensors, and molecular imaging. Du has received numerous awards including Sherman Clarke Fellowship, Elon Hooker Fellowship, Weissberger Memorial Fellowship, American Chemical Society Young Investigator Award (2008), and American Chemical Society Nobel Laureate Signature Award (2011).
