Francesco Fattirolli works as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, Careggi Hospital, Florence, Italy. Moreover, since 2005, he has served as an Associate Professor of health professions sciences (rehabilitation), School of Medicine, University of Florence, Italy. In the years 1988–90, 1994–98, and 2000–2002 he was a Member of the National Council; in 2002–2004, he was the President; in 2004–2006, he served as the Past President of the Italian Association on Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation. He works as the Associate Editor of Monaldi Archives for Chest Disease. Since 2009, he has served as a Member of the coordinating committee of the preventive cardiology of the Associazione Nazionale Medici Cardiologi Ospedalieri. His research fields of interest include coordination of the multidisciplinary program of cardiac rehabilitation; risk stratification and selection of patients with heart disease for cardiac rehabilitation programs; organization, implementation, and evaluation of cardiac rehabilitation protocols for patients with heart disease; exercise testing and cardiopulmonary exercise testing for diagnosis; evaluation and followup of patients with chronic coronary artery disease, heart failure, metabolic diseases, and comorbidity.
