Alexey I. Chichinin
Alexey I. Chichinin was born in Novosibirsk, Russia, in 1961. In 1983, he graduated from Department of Physics of Novosibirsk State University (subdepartment of Chemical Physics) and joined Laboratory of Laser Photochemistry (LLPC) of the Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion (ICKC) as a student-practicant under supervision of Dr. L.N. Krasnoperov. In 1989, he defended the thesis (devoted to creation of the time-resolved version of laser magnetic resonance (LMR)) and got a Ph.D. degree in chemical physics. Since that time he has permanent position in LLPC of ICKC. From 1990 he is a head of LMR group. In 1992-1993 he had post-doc position in french National Center of Atmospheric Research (LCSR – CNRS, Orlean) under supervision of Prof.Dr. G. Poulet and Prof.Dr. G. Les Bras. The research subjects were atmospheric degradation of CH3Br and heterogeneous reactions of atmospheric free radicals. In 1999-2000, A.I.Chichinin obtained Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) fellowship in the group of Prof.Dr. K.-H.Gericke (Germany, Braunschweig). Since that time, there is a close cooperation with the group of Prof. K.-H.Gericke (supported by AvH). The subject of cooperation is development of imaging technique (=resonance enhanced multiphoton ionisation (REMPI)+ molecular beams + time-of-flight mass-spectrometry + space sensitive ion imaging). In 2008, : A.I. Chichinin defended his second dissertation and obtained the Russian title “doctor in physics and mathematics” (equivalent to “Professor” in USA and Europe). He is mainly interested in gas phase phenomena: elementary processes in chemical kinetics and related aspects of molecular dynamics.
