Khaled Abouzid

Khaled Abouzid is a Professor of pharmaceutical chemistry and Vice Dean of educational and students affairs at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. From 1992 to 1994, he was a Member of the Ministry of Higher Education Mission to School of Pharmacy, University of Connecticut, USA. He received his Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences (organic chemistry) from the Organic Chemistry Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University in 1995. In 2005, he became a Postdoctoral Scientific Fellow at the Faculty of Biology and Pharmacy, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität, Jena Germany. His research fields include anandamides analogues (cannabinoid-like endogenous ligands) with one of the leaders in the cannabinoid chemistry field; statin nitrate hybrid compounds for Alzheimer disease; design and synthesis of anticancer targeting agents; molecular modeling and synthesis of anti HCV agents; design and synthesis anti-inflammatory agents; design and synthesis cardiovascular agents. Dr. Abouzid is a Member of Defence Committee for Ph.D. and M.S. Candidates and has 37 published research papers and 8 under preparation and publication.
