Byeng Youn
Byeng Youn aims to improve product reliability and maintenance using sensory-informed prognostics, physics-based prognostics, and system risk-based design. He is also interested in energy harvester design and bioinspired design using topology optimization. He is the Director of the Clark School’s Intelligent System Reliability and Design Laboratory. Youn was the recipient of the Springer Prize for the Best Young Scientist in the International Society for Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, as well as the Samsung Humantech Silver Prize. He consults leading electronics firms, and has developed two design software packages.
