Marina G. Kalyuzhnaya
Marina G. Kalyuzhnaya received her Ph.D. degree in microbiology in 2000, from the Russian Academy of Sciences (Puschino, Russia). She is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, University of Washington, Seattle, Wash, USA. She has more than 15 years of experience in physiology, biochemistry, and systematics of methylotrophs and in microbial ecology and environmental genomics of methylotrophs. She has published over 40 manuscripts in this area of research. Her current research interests include genetics, genomics, and biotechnological applications of methanotrophic bacteria, novel biochemical pathways in methanol- and methylamine-degrading bacteria, environmental detection of microbes with specific environmental functions, and development of single-cell-based methods for studying bacterial physiology.
