Vincent Cottin

Professor Vincent Cottin works in the National Reference Centre for Rare Pulmonary Diseases, in Lyon, France (Head, Pr J.F. Cordier). Specialist in respiratory medicine and Professor at the University of Lyon, he is also a member of the research unit UMR 754 (Director, Pr J.F. Mornex). He has contributed together with Pr J.F. Cordier and the GERM«O»P to the individualization of the combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema syndrome. His research thematics further include rare and so-called orphan pulmonary diseases, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, eosinophilic pneumonia, pulmonary vascular manifestations of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, pulmonary hypertension, lymphangioleiomyomatosis, and he has participated to numerous studies of the Groupe d’Etudes et de Recherche sur les Maladies « Orphelines » Pulmonaires (GERM«O»P). Pr V. Cottin has participated to a number of clinical trials in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis as member of steering committee, adjudication committee, data monitoring committee, and/or investigator. He is Associate Editor of European Respiratory Journal and Respiration, and is member of the editorial board of European Respiratory Review. He is currently chair of the Clinical Assembly of the European Respiratory Society, and member of the scientific committee of the Société de Pneumologie de Langue Française.
