Yibing Cai is one of the pioneers and leading scientists in the research fields of polymer nanocomposites, electrospinning and nanofibers, and thermal energy storage materials. He currently works as an Associate Professor at Key Laboratory of Eco-Textiles, College of Textiles and Clothing, Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China. His highest degree is a Ph.D. degree earned in 2007 from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China. In the recent years, besides teaching numerous undergraduate and/or graduate courses (in both polymer and fibers and textile materials fields) including polymer chemistry, fiber chemistry and physics, functional textile materials and novel fibers, surface functionalization of fiber materials, and surface physics and interface science of fibers, he has managed to establish a vigorous research program on electrospun polymeric nanofibers and their applications. His research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, the Research Fund for the Doctoral Program of Higher Education of China, the National High-Tech R&D Program of China (863), and the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University (NCET). Cai has published about 73 peer-reviewed articles (SCI, including the ones that are currently accepted), 4 book chapters (including Functional Nanofibers and Their Applications and Surface Modification of Textiles that are published by Woodhead Publishing Limited), and 2 inventive patents in China.
