Jessica M. Lindvall

University of Oslo, Norway

Jessica M. Lindvall was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1976. She received a Chemical/Biotechnological Engineering degree in 1999 from the Mälardalens Högskola in Eskilstuna, Sweden. She then earned a PhD in Cell- and Molecular- Medicine from the Karolinska Institutet (KI) in Stockholm, Sweden, a title she acquired in 2005. The thesis work included high throughput analyses using gene expression profiling on mammalian lymphocyte development and particularly on immunodeficiency disease models. Between 2006 and 2010 she was appointed a post-doc fellowship in Bioinformatics at the University of Oslo (UiO) with emphasis on high throughput analyses for a variety of high throughput screens in different species. In 2010 she became an entrepreneur and started the company BioinformaticService offering tailor made bioinformatical solutions for research groups running high throughput screens and which are of need for bioinformatical consultations in their analyses. In August 2011 Dr. Lindvall joined the Karolinska Institutet and SciLifeLab as a Bioinformatician at the core facility for Bioinformatics and Expression Analysis. Her current research interests include high dimensional data analysis (independent of species and biological arena), biological networks and data processing for integration and combination using multiple and diverse high throughput screens such as genomics, high throughput sequencing data, proteomics, RNAi screens, miRNA screens etc.
