Luigi Rigacci was born on August 13, 1962, Arona (Novara), Italy. He received his D.M. degree from the Medicine School of the University of Florence, Italy, in 1989, with final doctoral dissertation on non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. From 1989 to 1992, he did his postgraduate education at the Postgraduate School in hematology at the University of Florence. Since 1989, he has been a Fellow at the Laboratory and Clinic of the Hematology Department of the University of Florence. As a member of lymphoma study group, he published some papers regarding clinical and therapeutics aspects in non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. As a member of hemopathology laboratory, he studied bone marrow trephine biopsy (plastic embedded) and lymph nodal tissue. He performed immunohistochemistry on criostat nodes sections, and his principal interests were cellular cycle and adhesions molecules.
