G. Bhanuprakesh Reddy
G. Bhanuprakesh Reddy serves as a Scientist-E at the National Institute of Nutrition and as the Head of the Ocular Biochemistry Group. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry from Osmania University, India. He had two postdoctoral trainings: at the Indian Institute of Science and at the Case Western Reserve University. He served as a Visiting Scientist (2003), an ICMR International Fellow (2005), and a DBT-Overseas Associate (2007) at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. His research interests include biochemical, molecular, and nutritional aspects of ocular complications of diabetes and obesity. He received the Scopus India Young Scientist Award (2008), RPB International Research Scholars Award (2007), Professor B. K. Bachhawat International Travel Award (2007), ICMR Excellent Research Output Award (2006), ICMR International Fellowship (2005), DST Young Scientist Project (2004), ICMR Dr. V. N. Patwardhan Prize (2002), and Nutrition Society of India Young Scientist Award. He serves as a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, and as a Member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), Society of Biological Chemists (India), and as an Executive Committee member of Nutrition Society of India. He has published over 80 research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
