Avraham Lorber is a Clinical Professor of Cardiology at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine - Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. Lorber is Head of Pediatric Cardiology Unit - Rambam Medical Center, Haifa, Israel. His research fields and interests are transcatheter closure of the Atrial Septal Defect in elderly patients, transcatheter closure of the patent foramen ovale to prevent recurrent CVA/TIA in patients with "cryptogenic stroke", hemodynamic variations after transcatheter closure of atrial septal defects in various age groups, polymorphic catecholaminergic ventricular tachycardia – an autosomal recessive disease, and the familial forms of atrial septal defect and associated congenital phenotypic expressions. Lorber is a member in several national and international professional associations. He published more than hundred articles in peer-review journals. He teaches pediatric cardiology in the Rappapot Faculty of Medicine – the Technion. Lorber recevied ISF grant for the years 2009-2011 on the topic "Investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of catecholaminergic polymprphic ventricular tachycardia using cardiomyocytes generated from induced uripotent stem cells derived from patients ' fibroblasts" in collaboration with Professor Ofer Binah – the Technion.
