Franz-Josef Kaup

Franz-Josef Kaup is a Veterinarian and Diplomate at the European College of Veterinary Pathology, a Diplomate at European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine, and a Specialist in veterinary pathology, in particular pathology of diseases in nonhumanen primates. He studied at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover from 1974 till 1979. He worked at the Institute of Pathology, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Germany from 1980 till 1992. Since 1992, he works at the German Primate Center Göttingen. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Department of Pathology and Head of the Department of Primate Husbandry together with being Professor of laboratory animal pathology at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. In 1982, he completed a Ph.D. thesis in veterinary pathology from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. In 1995, he was a Diplomate at the European College of Veterinary Pathology, in 1995 a Professor of veterinary pathology, in 2000 a Professor of laboratory animal pathology, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, and in 2002, he was a Diplomate at the European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.
